Patients | Choices | Empowerment Competition
The Ashoka's Changemakers Initiative and Amgen invite entries in a competition to find social innovations on patient empowerment solutions. They are searching for innovative ideas to elevate patients’ voices and their decision-making powers to improve health outcomes. Organisations, projects, and well-thought-out ideas can be entered to provide solutions to improving support mechanisms for patients worldwide. Assessment criteria are: innovation, social impact, and sustainability.
Winners will receive US$10,000 to support their idea or innovation, and there is an additional prize of US$1,000 for early entries. Additional funding of up to US$1 million is available from the Amgen Foundation for those entries and organisations that have a proven track record of bringing their solutions to scale.
Entries must:
- Reflect the theme of the competition: Patients| Choices| Empowerment
- Demonstrate innovative solutions that elevate patients’ voices to improve health outcomes.
- Indicate growth beyond the stage of idea, concept, or research. At a minimum, entries should be at the demonstration stage and indicate success. While the competition supports new ideas at every stage and encourages their entry, the judges are better able to evaluate programmes that are beyond the conceptual stage, and have demonstrated a proof of impact, even at small scale.
- Be submitted in English, French, Portuguese, or Spanish.
