What are the best extracts that highlight the evidence for the impact of a communication for development, social change, behaviour change, public engagement, or informed citizen strategy on a development issue and priority?:
This is a summary of results from another brief describing the same program evaluation which this study built on: “Results from the combined arm’s implementation indicated a 72% average increase in proportion of girls having savings of their own (compared to a 12% increase in control groups) and a 15% increase in use of modern family planning methods among participants (compared to a 5% increase in control groups).”
To which development issue does this evidence and impact data relate?:
Married adolescents; integrated programming; reproductive health; economic empowerment
To which strategic approach(es) does the evidence and impact data relate?:
Integrated programming, including peer-led platforms that integrated SRH, Economic Empowerment and Life Skills, and critical reflective dialogue for gender norms shifting
What research methodology (ies) was/were used to produce this evidence and impact data?:
Baseline and endline survey data on a range of SRH and EE outcomes were collected5 from 3,771 program participants before the intervention began, with 3,079 (81.6%) re-interviewed approximately 1 year later at endline. The analysis sample is based on this latter group, effectively creating a panel of ever-married girls who had agreed to participate in the program and for whom data were available at both time points.
